DESCRIPTION:Join us for a full day of discovery\, creativity and community as the University of Reading celebrates its Centenary Community Festival across the beautiful Whiteknights campus. \n\n\n\nRCC will be there throughout the day with our own stand in the Orange Zone — also home to the festival’s dedicated cycle skills park. Do drop by to say hello\, meet the team and chat about cycling in Reading and the wider area. \n\n\n\nThe festival offers something for everyone: children’s activities\, research showcases\, heritage tours\, arts commissions\, hands‑on workshops\, and outdoor performances. More details are available on the festival website: https://www.reading.ac.uk/community-festival/ \n\n\n\nWhat RCC\, Reading Bike Hub & Kidical Mass will be providing:\n\n\n\n\nBike mechanics from Reading Bike Hub (two mechanics on site). Diagnostics are free; parts are charged if needed.\n\n\n\nHire bikes from Reading Bike Hub to help you travel to the festival sustainably.\n\n\n\nA Kidical Mass ride as part of the event\, with marshalling by bike and skaters to celebrate and raise the profile of all wheels.\n\n\n\nA bike donation point for anyone wishing to pass on a bike to Reading Bike Hub for refurbishment and re‑use.\n\n\n\nAnd of course\, the Reading Cycle Campaign team\, ready to talk about our campaigns\, local cycling issues and how you can get involved.\n\n\n\n\nCelebrations continue on Sunday 17 May\n\n\n\nThe festivities move into the heart of Reading as the University’s historic RAG Parade returns to the town centre. Expect an afternoon of live entertainment\, stalls\, and community fun in Forbury Gardens.
