Reading Cycle Campaign has undertaken an annual cycle census since 1994. The census takes place from 7:30 – 9:00 on the Tuesday of Bike Week (third week in June) and counts the total number of cyclists passing through 27 key junctions around Reading.
The data set we hold is a unique record of cycling trends in and around Reading and helped us spot the flaws in the cycle count data that was submitted in support of the pedestrian/cycle bridge over the Thames.
The census relies on volunteer counters – if you would like to help the Campaign by assisting with the annual census then please get in touch by emailing secretary@readingcyclecampaign.org.uk. It is good fun!
