There are plans to create a cycle route from Newbury to Windsor, dubbed NCN (National Cycle Network) 422. Work to create this route will be done by the local authorities; i.e. West Berks, Reading, Wokingham and Maidenhead & Windsor. In Reading the council has plans to create a share use facility (pedestrians and cycles sharing the footpath) along Bath Rd as part of NCN 422. The draft design drawings can be found here.
