Plus Easy Ways You Can Help
The Purpose
To connect the communities of Emmer Green and Sonning Common via a safe, non-athletic bike route, a “Greenway” appealing equally to pedestrians and mobility scooter users.
What About the B481, Peppard Road?
It is the shortest route but is problematic. Many people: existing cyclists, and potential bike riders young and old, would be uncomfortable on it. Parents worry about their children using it. Motorists become frustrated when following the slower, more vulnerable pedaller.
Other surfaced options are longer, less flat, thus unappealing to potential users.
Alternative infrastructure would benefit all parties
It would bring varied social and economic benefits.
The 2023 Survey Results with over 1,200 responses proves the need!
