Here are before and after photos of the end of Elm Lane in lower Earley.


What the pictures don’t really show is that the land is quite sloped, making the previous metal barrier particularly hard to navigate and potentially quite dangerous.
The metal barrier, which was particularly tricky for cargo bikes/recumbents/trikes and other non-standard bikes, has now been removed and replaced with wooden posts designed to make navigating the area much easier.
A relatively quick simple and cheap win, but one which makes a huge difference to cyclists and many other users of mobility vehicles.
